Make fitness fun again, with friends.
Puffin’ turns the workouts you already do into friendly challenges with the people you like. Everything counts on its own from Apple Health, and a small, fuzzy Puffin’ cheers you along the way.
Pick your Puffin’, then round up your crew.
Less staring at your own stats. More cheering on your friends.
-
Counts on its own
Runs, rides, swims and lifts arrive from Apple Health, whether they came from your Watch, your iPhone or another app. There’s nothing to log.
-
Challenges your way
Compete on steps, distance, time, calories or workouts. Set a daily, weekly or overall goal, with an end date or without one.
-
Cheer from anywhere
Everyone’s workouts land in one feed. Clap, cheer or comment, even straight from the notification.
-
Points for showing up
Every goal you hit earns Puffin’ Points, with a bonus for getting there first. They’re earned with friends and can’t be bought.
-
Dress your Puffin’
Spend your points on beanies, sneakers and seasonal collections, and make your Puffin’ any colour you like.
-
Rest without guilt
Travelling or unwell? Switch on Rest. Missed days aren’t held against you, and nobody nudges you until you’re back.
Start a challenge, share the code, then just move.
-
Start a challenge
Pick what counts, set a goal and choose a cover. It takes less than a minute.
-
Share the code
Send the invite link or the six-character code. Friends join in one tap.
-
Move like you normally do
Walk, run, ride or lift. Workouts show up in the feed, usually moments after you finish.
-
Watch it get competitive
Live standings, a day-by-day grid of who hit the goal, and points the next morning.
Hit your goals, earn points, and dress a very fuzzy friend.
-
Points for every goal you hit
Daily goals, weekly goals and milestones on the way to the big ones all pay out, landing the morning after.
-
A bonus for getting there first
Beat everyone to the day’s goal and your Puffin’ shows up right beside the bonus you snagged.
-
Dozens of pieces to collect
Visors, flannels, hiking boots, mittens and a scrunchie for its antenna. Try anything on before you spend a point.
-
Along for every workout
Save your look and your Puffin’ appears on every workout you post, cheering from the corner.
Fluffy on the outside. Serious about the numbers.
Friendly competition only works when everyone trusts the scoreboard.
-
One workout, every challenge
A 10-mile run counts in full toward a 5-mile challenge and a 10-mile one at the same time. Nothing gets split.
-
Your day, wherever you are
Workouts count on your own calendar day, so an 11pm run is still today’s run in any time zone.
-
Record it right here
No Watch? Record with GPS and a live view on your Lock Screen. Distance is measured properly, even at walking pace.
-
Friends, not followers
Only people in your challenges see your workouts. No public feed, no follower counts, no strangers.
-
Routes stay on your phone
Maps are drawn from Apple Health on your iPhone, and your routes never leave it.
-
Change the rules mid-game
Goal too easy? Whoever runs the challenge can edit it any time, and the standings recount from everyone’s workouts.
The things people ask first.
Is Puffin’ really free?
Yes. There’s no subscription, no ads and nothing to unlock. Puffin’ Points are earned by hitting goals with friends, and can’t be bought.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Puffin’ counts anything saved to Apple Health, whether it came from a Watch, your iPhone or another app. You can also record a workout in Puffin’ with GPS, or add one by hand.
Which workouts count?
Anything in Apple Health: runs, walks, rides, swims, strength, yoga, dance and more. Whoever runs a challenge can narrow it to certain activities, like rides only.
Who can see my workouts?
Only people in the challenges you join. There’s no public feed, no follower count and no way for strangers to find you. Your routes never leave your iPhone.
What if I’m sick or travelling?
Switch on Rest in Settings. Any workouts you do still count, missed days aren’t held against you, and Puffin’ won’t nudge you until you’re back.
Is there an Android version?
No. Puffin’ is built on Apple Health, so it’s iPhone only, running iOS 18 or later.
